This program is eligible for participants of 8 years and above through to 50 years and above. All participants must be in good health and have a full health check at home before coming to China.

Team options

Players will be grouped according to their skill level. They will then have specialized training by professional coaches.

Training Facilities

Participants will train in top-class centres with professional facilities. They will also have access to a gymnasium and other sports equipment.

Training Materials

All training materials necessary for the duration of the program, such as badminton rackets and uniforms, will be provided by SCIC Beijing.

Instructors & Coaches

Coaches on the program are experienced professionals who have trained players for championship-level competition.  Participants will receive focused training to improve their levels of accuracy, power, consistency, reflexes and hand-to-eye co-ordination.

Training Schedule

The standard training for a Chinese team involves training three times a day:
6:30 7:30am

For teams and individuals coming to China, the training schedule can be adapted according to participants needs. Please contact us for further details.

Participants have two options: staying in a foreign students dormitory or a modern hotel nearby.  If in the hotel, there are single or double rooms available, en-suite, with air-conditioning and a TV. The second option is staying in a dormitory building. Boys and girls lodge separately. Participants normally share a double room, although single rooms are available on request (there will be a small surcharge for this service). The rooms are furnished and include a desk, TV set, air conditioner, telephone and internet connection, as well as a bathroom. There is a public kitchen and a laundry on each floor and an Internet and reading room available free of charge.

Food & Drink

There are canteens at the training centre which offer single dish meals with rice for as little as 5 RMB (US$.60) per meal. Chinese restaurants on campus and in the local area offer meals for 10 - 20 RMB (US$2-4) per person. Western restaurants cost between 25 and 50 RMB (US$4 - 8) per person per meal. There is also Muslim food available for participants. If participants are staying in a hotel breakfast is included, lunch and dinner are extra (Chinese food, very cheap two or three dishes costs roughly 2 or 3 pounds, or $7).

Medical Facilities

There is a medical centre at each training facility for use by professional teams and athletes. Each team also has an appointed sports therapist specifically responsible for overseeing the teams health and treating any injuries that might occur. These facilities and professionals are available for participants training in China.

Additional Activities after training

SCIC arranges cultural activities, social events and sightseeing programs for all athletes training in China! These include special meals, cultural shows, arts workshops and Beijing tours.  For more details, please click here.
