Chinese Language Study (Beginner's Course)
Our SCIC Study Division offers a comprehensive Mandarin study program that is especially designed for beginners. Students can study full-time at Beijing Language and Culture University, improving their Chinese language skills in both oral speaking and Chinese character writings. After-class tutorials and arranged language partners are also provided to help students achieve success! Students can also study two or three times a week at SCIC Beijing's Cultural Centre, combining this course with another main program of their choice. Courses are taught mostly in Chinese, with an English interpreter provided.
Participants can also widen their understanding of Chinese culture while social activities and experiences help students discover both the vibrant and tranquil life of Chinese society. Through travel trips and exploration of this unique country you can discover breathtaking natural scenery and an amazing historical heritage, including exploring China's multiple ethnic minority culture! Beijing & China Tours
Travel & Exploration
Chinese language classes focus on developing oral skills, listening and reading comprehension, writing skills and correct grammar. Up-to-date classroom materials are used to introduce contemporary China, its social and economic life, culture, history, and literature.
Progress & Certificate
Throughout the program, students make great progress through homework assignments and tests. In addition, the semester and academic year programs have formal final term examinations (attendance is mandatory). Participants are awarded official diplomas and transcripts at the end of the program.
Private language tutorials are arranged twice a week for our students after class. Many retired BLCU professors tutor these sessions, and working with these experienced and affable teachers will improve your Chinese study. Sessions can focus on correcting basic mistakes, improving pronounciation, grammar or writing skills, or whatever aspect of Chinese language you desire.
Language exchange partners
Once the course has started we will arrange a Chinese student to be your language partner. These meetings are an ideal way to help each other improve at language study, as well as providing an opportunity for cultural exchange. These partnerships are often the beginning of a lasting friendship! Participants can meet at their own convenience.
