Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
The Beijing University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1956. It is one of the earliest established traditional Chinese medical institutions for higher learning in China and the only medical learning establishment designated '211' (meaning a government-selected university of importance).
At present there are around 15,000 students enrolled, including around 700 foreign students from 41 countries and regions around the world. Since being founded the university has trained more than 20,000 traditional Chinese medical professionals of different levels and 2,342 foreign students in Chinese medicine. It has also established 40 cooperative projects with 22 worldwide countries and regions.
Students will take courses in the School of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina, which is made up of 8 full-time professors and 20 associate professors. It is an award-winning department and a leader in the field of acupuncture research at home and abroad.
